Cabernet from the Hoya de Cadenas Estate

Type of wine: Red Varietal
Appellation of Origin: Utiel – Requena
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon
Ageing: 7 month in American and French oak casks

The Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety is well adapted to the Spanish Mediterranean. The Hoya de Cadenas Estate, 90km from the city of Valencia, is a winemaking paradise with a particular micro climate that facilitates the perfect maturation of these grapes and allows for the development of their own unique characteristics.

Vinification is carried out in stainless steel tanks at temperature of 25ºC for two weeks. The maceration of the skins is subject to a meticulous control to extract the best expression of the varietal. It is aged for 4 months in American oak barrels and 3 months in French oak barrels. The barrels used are medium toasted, which allows very smooth and elegant wines to be produced.

Recommended with red meat, rice dishes, roasts and sausages.

Tasting Notes

On appearance this wine shows a bright red ruby colour. The nose is clearly representative of the variety, showing sweet and intense blackcurrants. Its bouquet is confirmed on the palate with the concentrated blackcurrant and raspberry aromas supported by an integrated tannin structure and well balanced acidity. This is a harmonious and well structured wine with a pleasant aftertaste.
