Finca del Mar Sauvignon Blanc recognized as the best young white wine from the Valencian Community

Bodegas Vicente Gandía with 5 medals is one of the great winners in the Valencian Community Wine Contest organized by Proava

After two blank years caused by the pandemic, Proava once again organizes a new edition of the Mostra de Vins Caves i Licors de la Comunitat Valenciana in the recreational area of the old Turia riverbed. This event, which is in its 32nd edition, takes place from April 21 to 25 and has the presence of the most significant Valencian wineries and many other firms linked to gastronomy.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Mostra, the Valencian Community Wine Contest has taken place in parallel, a contest open to all those wineries that grow grapes, make and bottle wines in the Community. The tasting panel was made up of 16 sector specialists, including oenologists, journalists, sommeliers and technicians. The awards have been divided into 11 categories: Young white wines, unique whites, rosés, young reds, unique reds, reds aged in barrels for up to 6 months, reds aged in barrels for more than 6 months, Crianza reds, Reserva, Gran Reserva and liqueur wines. A total of 38 wines have been recognized and Bodegas Vicente Gandía with 5 medals is one of the most awarded wineries in this competition.

Within the category of young white wines, the winner was Finca del Mar Sauvignon Blanc. An attractive straw-yellow colour with greenish iridescences. Its bouquet tropical fruits (pineapple and passion fruit). On the palate, its fresh, unctuous and with citrus notes that remind of grapefruit. Its end is tasty and long.

The Miracle ART obtains a silver medal in the category of red wines aged in barrels for up to 6 months, Finca del Mar Tempranillo Crianza also obtains a silver medal in the category of Crianza wines and the Hoya de Cadenas brand stands out in the category of Reserva red wines. with the second and third place with Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Tempranillo and Hoya de Cadenas Reserva Privada respectively.

All these awards ratify Bodegas Vicente Gandía in the leadership position within the framework of the wines of the Valencian Community.
