The valencian winery buy new an Estate for the production of exclusive wines

The Finca Casa Gallur is the new bet of Bodegas Vicente Gandía for high expression oenology, 61 Hectares of “Singular Viticulture” in a privileged environment. Four noble varieties are grown in this vineyard: Tempranillo, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, all of them red. The soil of the estate is very stony and very arid, which makes possible to grow vines with very little yield. The grapes produced on this estate are of excellent quality with a lot of color, a lot of concentration and a great fruit load.

Its localited under the protection of “Sierra de los Gavilanes”, an extraordinary natural enclave that protects the vineyard from inclement weather, providing the area with unbeatable climatic conditions for growing vines. It is common to see the hawks flying over the vineyards of Finca Casa Gallur, so this bird of prey is part of the identity of this wine.

The Clos de Gallur Estate is located in the municipality of Caudete, 600m above sea level, and is within the most inland areas of the so-called “Valencian Tuscany” where rainfall is even scarcer, giving wines of unusual concentration. The municipality of Caudete belongs today to the province of Albacete, but historically it belonged to the Kingdom of Valencia. After the War of Succession in 1707, Caudete was declared in rebellion and annexed to the Crown of Castile. Due to its location within the “Vall dels Alforins” and its historical character, the Finca Casa Gallur is an exceptional estate where wines with the Protected Appellation of Origin Valencia can be produced.

Clos de Gallur 2019 is the first elaboration of Bodegas Vicente Gandía with grapes from Finca Casa Gallur, so this is a historic vintage. A limited edition of 20,000 bottles of a wine with a unique personality that transmits the purity of this unique terroir.

What’s Clos de Gallur like?

Ageing of 1 year in new barrels and of a single wine, French oak from the Allier forests, fine-grained, medium toasted and dried for more than 48 months. Some special barrels that give Clos de Gallur an extraordinary delicacy and complexity. Subsequently, it continues to evolve for another year in the bottle.

Cultivated in a terroir whose soils are limestone and very arid. Its continental climate has Mediterranean influence, is strictly dry and has a wide temperature range.

It stands out for its ruby red with ruby red reflections of the same colour. High intensity of ripe red fruit with excellent complexity and delicate hints of new oak. Fleshy, with a very polished tannin. Round, elegant and with a very long finish.

This fantastic wine deserves to be enjoyed with haute-cuisine made with the best quality products. Perfect to enjoy a special occasion or give away a magnificent hedonistic experience.

Without any doubt Clos de Gallur will position Valencian wines to be able to compete face to face and without any kind of complex with the great iconic references of Spanish wines.
