Bodegas Vicente Gandia is awarded again in one of the most important wie competitions in the USA
Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco by Pepe Hidalgo adds one more award to the long list of accolades since it was released less than two years ago. This Blanc de Noirs has obtained 94 points in the USA Wine Ratings contest. A competition that judges the quality, the value for money and the packaging of each product. The contest seeks to recognize, reward and help promote wine brands that have been successfully created and target a specific wine consumer.
These wines are evaluated by a panel of wine industry leaders: top-level wine buyers, consultants, wine experts, sommeliers… etc.
Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco by Pepe Hidalgo is a white wine from Utiel – Requena appellation of origin. It is pale yellow with a reddish hue. Aromas of wild strawberries, white flowers and ripe fruit. On the palate, it has a well-balanced acidity with a refreshing long finish reminiscent of fruits of the forest.
This white wine has been made from Bobal variety red grapes. For that it’s been hand-picked and it’s been pressed with a yield of under 45%. It must be left cold so that they can be kept for three days in order to absorb the pale colour which has been extracted and to allow it to be fermented once it has been cleansed at 14º C. The wine is then carted into French oak barrels.
Undoubtedly, this award places Vicente Gandia Bobal Blanco by Pepe Hidalgo on the first shelves of Spanish wines in the USA and on many of the menus of restaurants in that country.
