Andrés Proensa awards 91 points to Clos de Gallur

Proensa Guide 2022 reaches its twentieth annual edition with its initial philosophy of rigor in the selection of the best wines in Spain. A guide that exclusively includes wines that reach and exceed 90 points out of 100, which Andrés Proensa describes as “extraordinary wines”.

Andrés Proensa, a journalist dedicated to wine information for four decades, is in charge of scoring the wines according to their quality. In this last edition, he has scored 91 points to Clos de Gallur.

Clos de Gallur is a red wine from Bodegas Vicente Gandia made with grapes from La Finca Casa Gallur. A new bet of the winery for high expression oenology, 61 Hectares of “Singular Viticulture” in a privileged environment. Four noble varieties are grown in this vineyard: Tempranillo, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, all of them red. The soil of the farm is very stony and very arid, which makes it possible to grow vines with very little yield. The grapes produced on this estate are of excellent quality with a lot of color, a lot of concentration and a great fruit load.

This wonderful recognition verifies the wonderful work that Bodegas Vicente Gandia is doing with its high expression wines. Pepe Hidalgo, technical director of the winery, has been in charge of making this wine together with his team of oenologists. A wine that since its launch has received many awards and great joy, ensuring that Valencian wines improve their global positioning with wines of the highest level.
