The Environment

There is no good wine that does not respect nature. We have upheld this maxim at Vicente Gandía Winery since it was founded, as we believe that the correct way to produce wine is the natural way, the way which is in harmony with its surroundings. Quality and respect for the environment are the two foundations upon which Vicente Gandía Winery has built its identity and its daily operations.

Caring for and preserving the environment, maintaining and increasing soil fertility, respecting the natural cycles of flora and fauna and cultivating grapes with all their natural properties are some of our activities.

Vicente Gandía Winery develops its cultivation of vineyards through:

  • Encouraging cultivation of the area’s indigenous varieties, such as the Bobal grape.
  • Recycling and reusing water in all processes.
  • Pre-pruning, pruning and harvesting are all done using environmentally friendly techniques to prevent soil erosion and exhaustion.
  • Energy saving in the cask cellars, by using air from outside to keep the temperature inside the cellars at the correct level, thus contributing to energy efficiency.
